Collective Worship

Prayer is an integral part of our school life, providing a space where pupils and staff can come together to worship God, to reflect on ‘life in all its fullness’ and an opportunity for all to grow spiritually.

Pupils participate in a daily act of worship. In classrooms, Collective Worship follows the 4 part format: Gather - Listen - Respond - Mission, which mirrors the pattern of prayer in church. Pupils develop their understanding of a variety of prayers forms and become progressively more familiar with the range of prayer experiences that are central to the Catholic faith, for example, bidding prayers, spontaneous prayer, litany, the Rosary, contemplative prayer, praying the Psalms, the Examen and Lexio Divina.

Weekly Collective Worship assemblies provide an opportunity for pupils and staff to come together to reflect on current events, inspired by the liturgical calendar.

Our RE Ambassadors support pupils across this school with Collective Worship and join other schools across the Deanery in Fratelli Tutti: Prayers across borders, an online pupil-led Collective Worship each month.
