School hours & Collection Arrangements

School gates are opened and supervised from 8.40am. Gates close at 8.55am.

Children go directly to class for early morning learning activities.

Registers are taken promptly at 9am.

Pupils who are not in class for registration are marked as ‘late’.

Pupils arriving in school after 9am must report to the School Office before proceeding to class Breakfast Club providers will ensure that pupils leave the club, or are accompanied from it, so that they arrive in class on time.

School finishes at 3.10pm.

Collection Arrangements

In Key Stages 1 + 2, teachers lead classes into the playground for collection by an authorised adult. Parents/carers are expected to collect their children punctually from the designated areas.

Reception pupils wait in class and are dismissed individually upon arrival of authorised adult.

Where pupils are attending an After School Club, they will be collected by the club providers.

  • Children in Nursery, Reception and Years 1-3 must be collected by an authorised adult aged 18 or over.
  • Pupils in Years 4-6 must be collected by an authorised person aged 16 or over, unless the school has received permission from the parent/carer for the pupil to walk home independently. Independent travel home is only permitted for pupils in Years 5 and 6.
  • Pupils in Years 5 and 6 who have permission to walk home independently must not collect younger siblings from school.
  • Parents/Carers are responsible for informing the school of any changes to collection arrangements and for ensuring that all authorised collectors are known to the school.
  • Any pupil leaving the school site during the school day, other than at the normal end of the school day, must be collected by an authorised adult aged 18 or over.
  • The school may request identification where the collecting adult is not known to staff.

In cases of parent/carer delayed arrival, the office must be notified. Pupils who have not been collected will be supervised in the school foyer for a short period of time. Where the school has received no information about parent/carer delay, pupils will be directed to the After-School Club and parents will be charged accordingly.

In case of prolonged delay and no contact, the school is required to alert Local Authority Social Services.
